NTGent – Feasibility Study

As part of the strategic infrastructure plan for the city theater NTGent, PLUSOFFICE conducted the feasibility study for the Minnemeers and Arca sites, both located in the city center of Ghent. Through a participatory process involving NTGent, staff members, technicians, and the City of Ghent, a preferred scenario for the future city theater was developed. Within this preferred scenario, the Minnemeers site remains an important presentation venue for NTGent, operated under a cooperative model for both larger and smaller artistic creators.

The maker studio function with storage is fully relocated to the growth city. In doing so, potential partners and collaborations are sought for the operation of a ‘makershub’ to provide creative spaces (production and rehearsal) and possibly secondary functions (such as music rehearsal rooms, crafts, social services, youth centers, and so forth).
